River North Commons: A historical Brick and Timber Loft
In the heart of River North, amidst modern highrises and single family homes sits a beautiful brick and timber loft known as River North Commons. Spanning one city block, with entrances on both Huron and Superior, the building is located between Huron and Superior; Kingsbury and Larrabee streets. Built in early 1900's the building was formerly home to the Stiffel Lamp Company. When the factory closed in the mid 1990's, the building was acquired by Enterprise Development and reengineered into 198 loft homes incorporating most of the buildings unique character: ceilings heights from 9 to 14 feet, oversized windows, timber beams and brick walls. The building first opened to residents in 2000. The structure, originally a six-story building, was transformed with the creation of a seventh floor to duplex with the sixth allowing for sizable residences ranging from 1900 to 3500 square feet with sprawling outdoor terraces. Other floor plan options consist of one to three bedroom homes featuring fireplaces and balconies. There is parking in three areas: the underground heated garage, the attached garage on the northwest corner and the outdoor lot on the west side of building. Professionally managed by Phoenix Rising, River North Commons offers residents the following amenities:
A pet friendly building adjacent to the new city dog park.
A huge, exercise room filled with state-of-the-art professional equipment: free weights, machines, and cardio equipment, open 24/7.
